day 488 and may 23rds

I gave in.

I watched 'Love without Talking' and '500 Days of Summer'.

I think people, like me, love this movie because we can relate. It somehow helps us understand, or somehow gives us an idea, of why things turned out the way they did. It's just there really, we just have to look back. Not just the happy memories, but be brave enough to visit those other moments that will give us the answers.

I have two favorite scenes.

First was the "Expectations" and "Reality" scene. Ouch. Enough said.

Second was that of Day 488. It's what people wish or hope to have at the end of it all. I also think that this scene is what makes this movie a movie because only a few people get to have this moment. I think people are scared to know the reasons why it never worked out. And this scene provided the answer which will really hurt, but will give people hope in love again.

But like what I believe in, we really shouldn't wait for this day to get to Day 500. Just like what the voice over said: "Most days of the year are unremarkable. They begin, and they end, with no lasting memories made in between.  Most days have no impact on the course of a life. May 23rd was a Wednesday…"

May we all have our May 23rds until… J

*Plus Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing karaoke = hot, for me at least. There was something there. (angge smile/kilig) haha

the two things i really really love

Traveling. It's not just the wonderful places that get me to my feet, it's more of the feeling of moving and of change. It's the feeling of being in a place I've never been to. It's the peculiar things that excite and scare me at the same time. Going to Manila Zoo at age 20 was exciting for me. haha yes, it's that simple for me.

Photography. Discovering the world and beauty of photography was a by-product of traveling. What I love about photography is how it makes everything, every moment more beautiful. I'm not really the technical type when it comes to photography, I'm more of a subject- or moment-type of photographer.  Or I'm just really lazy to think and calculate before taking a photo, because the moment may be over soon. It started with my cellphone camera, borrowing digital cameras from friends, and then Sundays my Nikon D40. :)  (hopefully, a telephoto lens soon.)

These are the two things that I really really love. :)

Mindanao, I'll see you December. :)

rainy saturday (or just the girl thing)

You know that point in your life when you're happy and everything is fine? You've got everything you need, at least those that you need now.

Then you find yourself at the end of the day visiting that folder of the dream you wish you can have now. You make plans again, you think of ways to make it happen.

It happened tonight.

And for a minute or so you entertain that sad feeling. Wishing that you can just drop all your responsibilities as an adult, that you can be bold and brave to put yourself out there again.

Then you wipe those tears and pray. Thanking Him for all the blessings you have right now. You pray for patience. You remember those times when He surprised you with His own plan and how it all made sense.

Then you let go of that sadness, the regrets and disappointments, and trust Him.

-------------------------------------------

I remember sharing in MBS last April how often we read in the Bible and hear from people about letting go and trusting Him; and how hard it is for us as human beings to do it, since we're so used to taking control and making plans. And how frustrating and disappointing it feels when your plans don't work out.

How wonderful to realize that all this time He's been teaching me the one thing I've always wanted to learn. J

fridays at cafe agogo

Haven’t you noticed? The heart is formed by two ears.

Two ears joined together.

Love is about open communication, having an open ear to listen.

 - from a priest’s homily.

My friend, I hope you learn from this. There's a reason why you were in that mass. I pray that you’d be more patient and more understanding. :)

These things take time. ;)
